Our commitment

At The Quiet Flames, we believe everyone deserves a calm, beautiful, and functional online shopping experience — regardless of ability or the technology they use. We are committed to making our website accessible to all visitors, including those with visual, auditory, cognitive, or motor disabilities.

We strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

What we are doing

Visual accessibility

  • Maintaining sufficient colour contrast between text and background elements in line with our earthy, duotone design

  • Ensuring all product images include descriptive alternative text for screen reader users

  • Avoiding the use of colour alone to convey important information

  • Supporting browser-level text resizing without loss of content or functionality

Navigation and structure

  • Using clear, consistent heading structures across all pages

  • Ensuring all buttons, links, and forms are fully keyboard navigable

  • Providing descriptive link text so users understand where each link leads

  • Including skip-to-content links to bypass repetitive navigation

Shopping and checkout

  • Ensuring our product pages, cart, and checkout process are screen reader compatible

  • Clearly labelling all form fields including shipping address and payment forms

  • Providing helpful, specific error messages during checkout

  • Ensuring order confirmation and tracking information is accessible to all users

 

Forms and contact

  • Clearly labelling all fields on our contact form

  • Providing accessible error messages that identify issues and suggest corrections

 

Mobile and assistive technology

  • Designing responsively so our site functions across all screen sizes

  • Testing with common screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver

  • Supporting zoom up to 200% without horizontal scrolling or loss of functionality

 

Known limitations

We are a small independent dropshipping store and while we are fully committed to accessibility, some areas of our website may not yet meet all WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are actively working to identify and close these gaps.

 

Current areas under review:

  • Some supplier product images sourced through our dropshipping platform may not yet include complete alt text, as these are provided by third-party suppliers

  • Product descriptions imported from suppliers may not always follow accessible formatting guidelines — we are reviewing and editing these on an ongoing basis

  • Certain third-party tools such as our payment processor, review widgets, and shipping tracking pages may have accessibility limitations that fall outside our direct control

 

Third-party and supplier content

As a dropshipping store, some content on our website — including product images, descriptions, and specifications — is provided by our suppliers. While we review and edit this content where possible, some elements may originate from third-party sources.

 

We also use third-party platforms for:

  • Payment processing — handled by our checkout provider

  • Order fulfilment and tracking — managed through our dropshipping supplier

  • Email communications — sent via our email marketing platform

  • Product reviews — displayed via a third-party review widget

 

We select partners who take accessibility seriously, but we cannot fully control the accessibility of their interfaces. If you encounter an issue with any third-party element, please let us know and we will do our best to assist.

 

Ongoing efforts

We treat accessibility as a continuous responsibility. We are committed to:

  • Regularly auditing our website for accessibility barriers

  • Reviewing and updating supplier-provided product content for accessibility

  • Including accessibility requirements in any future website updates

  • Responding promptly to user feedback and acting on accessibility concerns
